Manchester United manager David Moyes has reportedly said that he is still unsure as to when injured striker Wayne Rooney can make his return to the field following a deep gash sustained during training.
Rooney missed England's two World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine after requiring stitches to his forehead after accidentally being kicked in the face by teammate Phil Jones during a training session for United.
According to Sport24, ahead of Saturday's Premier League game against Crystal Palace, Moyes said that he has to assess the risk of Rooney's cut splitting open again before selecting him for a game, although he added that Rooney is in a 'great physical shape'.
Stating that Rooney has got a cut in the middle of his forehead which could be split, Moyes also said that as the skin is very thin, the injury has knitted well and Rooney has had the stitches out, although he added that he has to see where the level of risk is with his injury.
