All-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been called in to the Australian squad as a replacement for injured Mitchell Marsh for the remaining three ODIs of the five-match series against Pakistan.

Marsh has had problems with his right shoulder, which has restricted his bowling ability, and he pulled up sore after Australia's six-wicket loss against Pakistan in the second ODI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Stoinis has so far played a single one-day international for Australia against England in September 2015 besides also representing Australia A in last year's Queensland-based Winter Series where he smashed a first-class hundred against South Africa A, cricket.com.au reported.

The 27-year-old Victorian batsman will play Melbourne Stars' Big Bash Twenty20 match against the Brisbane Heat on Tuesday before heading to Perth on Wednesday with Adam Zampa, who has been released from the national squad to play in the same match.

Marsh, on the other hand, was named in Australia's 16-man squad for the four-match Test series in India and he will hope to recover in time for the tour starting next month.

The five-match ODI series is currently tied at 1-1. The two sides will now play their third ODI at the WACA Ground on Thursday.
