External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will be paying a two-day visit to Maldives beginning on October 10 for enhancing trade and investment ties and meet the developmental objectives between the two nations.
"Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj will be visiting Maldives on October10-11, 2015. She is going for a meeting of the India, Maldives Joint Commission," MEA official spokesperson Vikas Swarup told a press conference here.
"We expect the talks to give direction for enhancing trade and investment ties, meet developmental objectives in Maldives, discuss further cooperation in areas such as health care, energy collaboration, human resource development, and we would of course also discuss the very close cooperation between India and Maldives in defence and security ties," Swarup added.
