Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday said that the government's step to reduce the school syllabus by 25 percent will help the children to develop and enhance their skills through co-curricular activities.
"We are reducing syllabus up to Class eighth by 25 percent on subjects that come under Delhi Government, from next month," Sisodia told ANI.
"I think if this 25 percent reduction is made in the subjects, the children will get a chance to develop and enhance their skills through theatres, arts, music, etc," he added.
Students up to class eight, studying in the government schools of Delhi, will get a relief from carrying heavy bags on their shoulders to schools.
The Delhi Government has completed the work to reduce the school syllabus by 25 percent.
The decision will be implemented across Delhi Government schools in October.
