Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Monday condemned the move of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA A. Revanth Reddy for attempting to bribe a nominated member of the state assembly.
"Strongly condemn TDP and its MLA trying to bribe a MLA in MLC elections in Telangana," Singh tweeted.
"I urge Congress MLAs who got elected as Congress and defected to TRS to vote for Congress candidate Akula Lalita along with Congress MLAs," he added.
Earlier in the day, Reddy was sent to 14 days judicial custody by a local court. However, he has been allowed to cast vote for the MLC elections.ccording to reports, Reddy was arrested after the member, Elvis Stephenson, lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Reddy and his aide had gone to Stephenson's residence in Secunderabad to hand over the cash when the ACB caught the duo.
