Accusing the Congress of toying with the security of the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the opposition party wanted to fulfil the demands of Pakistan by repealing sedition law and reducing troops in Kashmir.

He also said that if the Congress had continued working on the path shown by Sardar Patel post-independence India would have been at an altogether different position today.

"Congress wants to remove armed forces from Kashmir. They are attempting to fulfil the demands of Pakistan. Sardar Patel spent his life to protect the unity of the nation. The party also sides with the 'tukde-tukde' gang which wants to break India. Had Sardar Patel been alive today, he would have never accepted the Congress 'dhakosla patra' (manifesto)," the Prime Minister said while addressing an election rally in Songadh.

The Prime Minister said that in order to bring peace and harmony in the nation it is necessary to wipe out terrorism from India using whatever measures needed.

"It is important to uproot terror from its roots and that is what I am doing. Terrorism is like cancer and we will cure India fully of it" he said.

He also said that Pakistan's only business is to export terror.

"Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) functions on the guidelines laid down by the Late Syama Prasad Mukherjee which state that two heads of the nation, two laws, two symbols cannot be allowed in the country. We have protected the unity and integrity of India successfully for the past five years and on that basis, we come seeking your votes (for Lok Sabha elections)," said Prime Minister Modi.

Gujarat will witness polling for its 26 Lok Sabha seats in the third phase on April 23. The results will be declared on May 23.
