Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday said that he was 'touched' and grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for appreciating his speech at Oxford.
"I am very touched and grateful, what more can I say. He was kind enough to say this. He spoke with a big heart," Tharoor told ANI here.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier today praised Tharoor for his speech at Oxford.
"What our Shashi ji said at the Oxford debate reflects expressiveness of an Indian citizen. It reflects the power of expressiveness of what we feel; it shows what we leave at the right place," the Prime Minister had said.
Tharoor had made a passionate argument demanding reparation payments from the UK to India for 200 years of its colonial rule.
