Three members of JNU's ABVP unit resign

Three office bearers of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) unit on Wednesday resigned in solidarity with the ongoing students' protests against Centre's handling of the row at the university.

Pradeep, Joint Secretary, ABVP JNU unit, Rahul Yadav, President SSS ABVP unit and Ankit Hans, Secretary SSS ABVP unit resigned from their respective posts.

The JNU students are on strike demanding JNU student union president Kanhaiya Kumar's release.

He was arrested on Friday last in connection with a case of sedition and criminal conspiracy registered over holding of the event at the varsity during which anti-India slogans were alleged to have been raised.

Kanhaiya, who has been booked under sedition charge in connection with an event in JNU where anti-national slogans were allegedly raised last week, has been arrested by Delhi Police. He has been remanded to judicial custody till March 2.
