Tissot, the famous Swiss watch brand, fortifies its ties to the world of cricket by becoming the Official Watch of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for this season.
This was announced in Bangalore today at a team event. Cricket is a popular sport played in 125 countries around the world. With its newest format T20 gaining in popularity, IPL is one of the most followed cricket leagues worldwide and is ranked sixth of all sports leagues.
Commenting on the partnership RCB Chairperson, Amrit Thomas said, "I am extremely happy that RCB has chosen a sporty brand like Tissot which is known for its precision. A quality that is reflected in every player of RCB, so clearly it's a perfect match."
François Thiebaud, President of Tissot said, "Tissot is proud to be the Official Watch for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. We are a brand with strong heritage just like the Indian culture, with a deep connection to sports. Therefore, this partnership, with our ambassador's team, is a perfect fit."
In honour of the new partnership, Tissot presented all the players of the team with the Tissot PRC 200 Automatic. Just like the athletes themselves, the watch, as its name indicates, is Precise, Robust yet Classic. Furthermore, it has a water-resistance of up to 20 bar (200 m/660 ft).
The plus sign in the logo symbolises the Swiss quality and reliability Tissot has shown since 1853. The watches, sold in more than 160 countries, are authentic, accessible and use special materials, advanced functionalities and meticulous design. Tissot stands by its signature, Innovators by Tradition.
The high caliber of the brand has been repeatedly recognised. Tissot has been named Official Timekeeper and Partner of many disciplines, including, basketball with the NBA, FIBA and CBA; cycling with the Tour de France and the UCI World Cycling Championships; motorsports with MotoGPTM and the FIM World Superbike Championship and rugby with the RBS 6 Nations Championship, TOP14, the European Rugby Champions and Challenge Cups. It is also the Official Timekeeper of the World Championships of fencing and ice hockey and of the AFL.
