Telugunadu Students Federation(TSF) president P Sharatchandra on Wednesday demanded suspension of Education Minister Jagadeeshwar Reddy for the goof-up in the intermediate results announced recently.
"We demand Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS) government to announce compensation for the families of victims who have committed suicide and to suspend the Education Minister. If the government fails to take action before May 17 all student organisations will protest in front of Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao's house and Education Minister Jagadeeshwar Reddy's house," Sharatchandra told ANI.
Asserting that democracy in Telangana has died, the TSF president said, "Democracy in Telangana died when students were arrested for protesting against intermediate results goof-up. TRS working president KT Rama Rao responds to everything and in every meeting, he speaks about education standards in Telangana. But when 23 students committed suicide because of your government's fault, you just respond through social media."
On Wednesday, student leaders of all the opposition parties, youth and women organisations addressed a press meet about the intermediate results goof-up at Maqudam Bhavan here and threatened to protest on May 17 seeking justice for intermediate students.
Over three lakh students reportedly failed in the intermediate exams conducted by the BIE in the state. This led to protests by students and their parents alleging large-scale discrepancies in the examination process.
