South Korea said it is all set to hold working-level talks with North Korea this week in connection with bilateral economic projects.

According to the Ministry of Unification, the two sides, on Tuesday, will conduct a meeting on linking and modernising cross-border railways at Peace House, a South Korean administrative building at Panmunjom.

The South plans to send a three-member delegation headed by Vice Transport Minister Kim Jeong-ryeol, while his counterpart Vice Railroad Minister Kim Yun-hyok will lead the other side, Yonhap reported.

The two Koreas will also discuss road-related cooperation at Tongilgak, a Panmunjom pavilion on the northern side, on Thursday. North's vice minister for environmental protection, Pak Yong-ho will also be a part of the talks.

Next Wednesday, an inter-Korean meeting on forestry cooperation will take place.

"Through the sub-committee meetings on railways, road and forestry cooperation, (we) will faithfully discuss ways to implement the Panmunjom Declaration with a view to laying the groundwork for the sustainable development of South-North relations and the establishment of lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula," Yonhap quoted the ministry as saying.

In April, North and South Korea agreed to sign a peace treaty formally later this year, ending a 65-year-old long war between them.
