Two protesters killed in clash during Kaziranga National Park anti-encroachment drive

The eviction drive against encroachers in the Kaziranga National Park started this morning in the three villages of Bandordubi, Palkhua and Deuchurchang.

Two of those protesting against the anti-encroachment drive died in the clashes in Bandordubi village. Fourteen persons were injured. The dead have been identified as Anjuma Khatun (30) and Muffakar (25).

The area falls under the jurisdiction of the Koliabor Sub Division in Assam's Nagaon District.

KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi is said to have been present during the protest.
