Manchester United forward Robin van Persie has admitted that he does not know whether he would be offered a new contract at the Premier League outfit when his current deal expires in 2016.
The Dutch international said that it is not up to him, adding that for the moment he is staying there for another 18 months. He said that that is it really and added that he cannot look into the future.
Van Persie claimed that he doesn't know what is going to happen after that, insisting that they should have to wait and see, the BBC reported.
Van Persie added that he does not think he has scored often enough this season, with his tally of eight goals in 21 appearances in 2014-15 meaning that he is unlikely to rival his totals -30 and 18 goals respectively, from his previous two seasons after joining for 24 million pounds from Arsenal in 2012.
With his contract up at next summer, Van Persie said that he has played something like 20 games and has scored eight goals, claiming that he is not happy with that.
The Dutchman accepted his share of responsibility for United's overall record of five goals in their last six games, with the latest blank coming in their FA Cup draw at League Two side Cambridge United on Friday.
Van Persie said that he has to be honest, adding that they are not scoring enough goals and everyone feels responsible, claiming that he definitely does.
Van Persie insisted that he wants to score more, and added that he would do everything, every day in training and during the games. He said that he would keep doing what he has been doing for the last 10 years to make those goals.
