Australian batsman Matthew Wade has said that being dropped from the Indian tour will end up being a blessing in disguise for him and the last few months have been hard work because he has not been getting enough game time.
According to News.com.au, Wade expressed that to get back and play some consistent cricket for Victoria and know where he fits is what he needs to do.
He said that fingers crossed, he would be able to make runs and win games.
Wade was the only member of the 17-man touring party that didn't play a Test during the Ashes, consigned to the role of team mascot and drinks runner, the report said.
The 25-year-old admits to frustration at having to watch on from the sidelines while his teammates slumped to a 3-0 series loss, but felt his form in the tour matches was good enough to take a fair degree of confidence into the one-day series, the report added.
Scores of 15*, 4, 0, 36 and 0 and a total of one catch across the T20 and one-day matches in England can't have helped Wade's confidence, the report further said.
