Want India to be 'Vishwa guru': Rajnath Singh

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said that the government is considering in making India a 'Vishwa guru'.

"We do not want to be strong to create panic in the heart of people living in other countries, we want to make prosperous India so that it becomes the world guru," said Rajnath Singh while flagging off the Jal Mitti Rath Yatra in Delhi.

Rajnath Singh further averred that the purpose of the yatra is to build and develop the nation.

"This rath yatra is different from that of the other rath yatras. It not being done to organise or disorganise a government this is taken up to build the nation. We want to see out country as independent, strong and properous," added the Home Minister.

"People will take the 'Jal Mitti Rath Yatra' and bring water and clay from the 'chardham' of our country," said Rajnath Singh.

The Yatra is a launchpad for the mega 'yagna' that is scheduled to be held in March, where senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and Union ministers will be present.

One hundred and eight hawan kunds, 2,100 priests and 51,000 attendees will pray for BJP's re-election in next Lok Sabha polls. The 'Mahayagna' that will be held near Red Fort and will continue for seven days from March 18 to 25.
