Pakistan head coach Waqar Younis has brushed aside match-fixing claims made by former England captain Michael Vaughan after the third one-day international in Sharjah.

Vaughan raised suspicions over Pakistan's performance in the match as the hosts lost six wickets in quick succession for mere 29 runs. England clinched the four-match series 3-1 with an emphatic 84-run win in the final contest.

The former England skipper had written on Twitter: "3 run outs and a few iffy shots from Pakistan. Never seen that before!!" He then tweeted: "They must all think we are stupid."

Responding to these claims, former fast bowler Waqar said that there was nothing wrong with that game and maintained that the defeats are part and parcel of the game. He added that he had no doubts about his players, the Guardian reported.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shahryar Khan was believed to have taken up this issue with the International Cricket Council.

Earlier in 2010, the disgraced trio of Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt were found guilty of match-fixing in the Lords Test between England and Pakistan.
