David Warner produced a yet another brilliant performance as Australia pulled off a massive 117-run win over New Zealand in the final ODI to complete a three-match Chappell-Hadlee series whitewash at the Melbourne Cricket Group here on Friday.
Warner, who was declared 'Man of the Match' as well as 'Man of the Series', led from the front as he struck a masterful 156 in addition to having a strong 105-run partnership with Travis Head (37) for the fifth wicket to guide their side to a competitive total of 264-8.
The 128-ball knock also saw Warner notch his seventh one-day international hundred in 2016.
In reply, New Zealand failed to counter Australia's bowling attack and were eventually bundled out for 147. Opener Martin Guptill was the top scorer for the visitors with 34.
Mitchell Starc was the pick of the bowlers for Australia for his figures of three for 34. Pat Cummins, James Faulkner and Head two wickets each while Josh Hazlewood chipped in with a wicket.
The Steve Smith-led side won the first two matches by 68 and 116 runs, respectively.
