The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Tuesday said that it will not tolerate the blatant opposition of China against India on various platforms and has urged its members as well as the general public to boycott Chinese products.

GCCI president Vipin Patel said the neighbouring country is working "against our national interests.

"There were representatives from 50-60 associations, we have asked them to create and impact on masses against Chinese products. We all associations and chambers of Gujarat together will send a message that if China can openly oppose us, so can we," Patel.

"If China cannot support us for our membership in NSG or cannot support us against Masood Azhar, then we will also not keep quiet," he added.

In a circular issued to its 200 members, the industry lobby said using products manufactured by Chinese companies goes against our national interest.

The GCCI called for boycott of Chinese products, saying that China is "siding with Pakistan against India, whether it is about harbouring terrorist Masood Azhar, or using its veto to stall our bid for the Nuclear Suppliers Group membership. China has been acting against our national interest by constructing dam over the Brahamaputra and repeatedly trying to harm us from across the borders.
