Weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga scripted history as he won India's first ever gold medal in the Men's 62kg Group A weightlifting event at the ongoing Youth Olympic Games here.
Lalrinnunga lifted a total of 274kg (snatch of 124kg and clean and jerk of 150kg) to finish on top in the Argentine capital last night.
The silver medal went to Toptas Caner of Turkey, who lifted 263kg (snatch of 122kg + clean and jerk of 141kg), while Villar Manjarres Estiven Jose of Colombia won the bronze with a combined lift of 260kg (snatch of 115kg + clean and jerk of 143kg).
The medal is India's fourth in the ongoing edition of the tournament.
