Honda India is prepped up to re-launch Jazz in the country, joining the missing links - Jazz is coming with none foreseeable shortcomings and that’s a good thing for a re-entry!

Honda Jazz is back and seems promising, rivaling straight with the premium hatch brigade in the country. The 2015 Jazz has more opponents to fight with compared to ones it had earlier, it's definitely gonna be a tough tiff now! And Jazz appears to be well competitive. The hatch is also generating lot of anticipation in the market and with our few industry first spy shots of the hatch, we brought the - What-We-Know-So-Far about Honda’s upcoming Jazz.

Finally a Diesel with Best-In-Class Fuel Efficiency!

There’s no doubt in that Jazz will deliver best-in-class fuel efficiency with 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel. To justify this, currently the segment-best is of Maruti Suzuki Swift’s 25.2 kmpl but with the same engine Amaze and City offer 25.8 and 26+ kmpl, respectively. Indeed it's more than what Swift delivers, so 99 percent it will be more fuel efficient than its rivaling peers (in diesel guise).

Now speaking of the power, similar to that of City and Amaze, Jazz i-DTEC diesel will extract 100 PS and 200 Nm of max torque. And is expected to be mated to five-speed manual transmission, City’s 6-speed is not viable considering the price limitation for the hatch.

Petrol CVT-Automatic with Paddle Shifters

This is the same engine that Jazz used to offer earlier and is also present in the Brio. The 1.2-liter i-VTEC motor musters a healthy 88 PS and 109 Nm of max torque and it comes mated with two transmission options - 5-speed manual and CVT automatic with steering mounted paddle shifter, a-thing-to-note-here - it's segment-first feature!

Previous Jazz’s ‘Magic Seats’ will also be Offered

Remember last gen Jazz’s ‘Magic Seats’, various versatility option that it offers with the seats to carry luggage and nigglings. The 2015 Honda Jazz will also offer these ‘Magic Seat’ options. It features four different modes for luggage carrying versatility - Utility Mode, Long Mode, Tall Mode, and Refresh Mode.

City’s Dashboard and it’s Similarly Loaded As Well

It sports Honda City dashboard in dual-tone black and silver color theme. However, it gets slightly different instrumentation cluster and misses on few silver elements compared to City. The multi-function steering wheel is also borrowed from the sedan along with the paddle shifters (for the petrol automatic trim) but compared to the City, it misses out on cruise control buttons. Moreover, the images that we spied, appears of a higher variant of the Jazz but not the top-end trim, as engine start-stop button is missing along with the touch screen unit, which Honda offers in entire range in the country. Adding on this aspect, expect the recently added 15.7 cm Audio-Video-Navigation (AVN) touch-screen infotainment system in City on Jazz’s top-end trim; as I mentioned above Honda India offers AVN system on the entire range currently, including Brio.
