The Q7 moniker first debuted in 2005. Surprisingly, the mammoth from the Ingolstadt stable has had a relatively long first innings in the market. The second generation of the Q7 debuted a full 10 years later in 2015. A life span that long simply proves that the big Audi ticked all the boxes it needed to. It was big, had presence and had a torquey motor too.

The second generation of the Q7 has big shoes to fill - both figuratively and literally. Audi hasn’t reinvented the wheel with the new version. It has simply made what was good, even better! The feature list booklet is as thick as the textbook you hated in college and it houses amongst the plushest cabins we’ve been inside. Powering the Q7 is a 3.0 litre TDi motor that belts out 250 PS of power and 600 Nm of torque in a smooth gush. Under the skin, is also Audi’s legendary ‘quattro’ - all wheel drive technology that lets the big guy traverse tricky terrain rather easily. The new Audi Q7 will be available in two variants - the Q7 45 TDI Premium Plus and Technology variants. While the former is priced at Rs. 72 lac, the latter is priced at Rs. 77.5 lac (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).

We had the Q7 to ourselves on a weekend and we did what any 10-year old would do. Take it to the beach to have some fun. Browse through the photo-gallery and let us know what you think of the new Q7!
