Chevrolet Enjoy was launched in May 2013 in the MPV-B segment, Enjoy has turned one and to commemorated this, General Motors India has launched – Chevrolet Enjoy 1st Anniversary edition. The special first birthday version is available for a limited period of time.
GM India President and Managing Director Arvind Saxena said “Chevrolet Enjoy has completed a very successful ‘Year of Enjoyment’ on Indian roads. It has given our customers a spacious multi-purpose vehicle and a luxurious drive that is enabling them to enjoy life with their families and friends. Since its launch in May 2013, the Enjoy has sold close to 20,000 units. It has taken on the toughest competition in the newly created MPV-B segment, he added.
Key addition to the Anniversary Edition :
- The limited edition vehicle features lot of chrome, chrome surround headlight, taillights, chrome license plate appliqué, chromed door handles
- The special edition offers roof-rails
- The outside-rear-view-mirrors features side repeaters
- The vehicle sports trendy side body decals
- On the inside the vehicle gets faux wooden trim
Mechanically, the Enjoy is powered by the same 1.3 liter TCDi turbo diesel motor churning out 76.4bhp at 4000rpm and the maximum torque of 188Nm. The 1.4 liter SMARTECH petrol engine gathers 102.6bhp at 6000rpm while the peak torque stands at 131Nm. The car is available in six colors, namely, Velvet Red, Candy White, Switchblade Silver, Seadrift Grey, Caviar Black and Linen Beige. The Chevy MPV boosts warranty of 100,000 kilometers/three years whichever is earlier.
The Enjoy features transversally mounted engine and a real wheel layout, mated to a five speed manual transmission. The MPV rides on a monocoque chassis. The Enjoy comes in three variants LS, LT and LTZ and offers seven/eight seat layout. The diesel Enjoy sports fuel efficiency of 18.2kmpl while the petrol Enjoy sports efficiency figures of 13.7kmpl. On the safety front, the MPV offers dual front airbags for driver and co-passenger; it also features anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution. It also offers reverse parking sensors in in top of the line variants for reverse parking aid.
The limited edition is available in both diesel and petrol. The MPV rivals the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia, Ashok Leyland Stile. The upcoming car in the segment is the Honda Mobilio, Mobilio is expected to be launched in the second half of 2014.
