Hyundai Announces Elite i20's Coupe Prices in UK

Revealed in December last year, Hyundai UK announced the prices of the flamboyant i20 Coupe. Sadly, not-for-India Hyundai i20 Coupe is priced in the range of £12,725 (approximately Rs 12.21 Lac) to £16,400 (approximately Rs 15.74 Lac). The sales in UK will begin from 26th of March, 2015.

Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor UK, commented: “The addition of the New Generation i20 Coupe means that the i20 range now has a sportier edge, boosting its appeal to younger audiences. It offers a bold exterior design, comfortable and spacious interior and generous standard equipment – which will appeal to a broader audience in the segment.”

Starting with the design, the coupe differentiates itself from the 5-door hatch by featuring a sportier front bumper having a larger reverse hexagonal grille. The projector headlamps and daytime-running-LEDs it offers are coming to Elite i20’s Cross, Hyundai India is launching next month. Moreover, the roofline is sloping while the rear profile features subtly changes tailamps and a new bumper.

It rolls on a fatter 17-inch - 205/45 R17 radials. The interiors are borrowed from the hatch but offers a new orange hue palette to compliment the new exterior color Tangerine Orange (existing i20 5-door hatch dashboard color palettes are also available - interiors color palettes are not offered in India).

7”  touch-screen infotainment system with satellite navigation is now offered with i20 and Coupe-version in UK, India is likely to get this year in Elite i20 or maybe in the upcoming Elite i20 ‘Cross’!

The i20 Coupe is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol and 1.4-liter CRDI diesel. The 1.2-liter generates 84 PS and max torque of 122 Nm @ 4000 rpm. The 1.4-liter CRDI diesel musters 90 PS and 240 Nm @ 1500-2500 rpm. The petrol is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the diesel comes with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.
