Hyundai India for the month of October registers a cumulative growth of 11.5 percent. Call it a Elite i20 effect? Well you must, as India’s second largest carmaker retails 38,010 units in domestic market and exports 18,000 units. In the third last month of year, Hyundai’s total sales stood at 56,010 units (Domestic + Exports). Hyundai Elite i20 in 2 months of its launch as bagged bookings of 40,000 units. Last month in September, the automaker retailed 8092 units of Elite i20 while for this month it is expected that company has sold more than 9000 units. (Hyundai does not provide the sales figure of individual models).
“Hyundai volumes grew by 9% over last month with significant increase in sales of additional and replacement buyers propelled by strong demand lead by new models like Elite i20, Xcent coupled with festival buying. We anticipate that this positive momentum would build up further with increase in sales of entry buyers if there is strong promise of improvement in economic and macro factors in rural and urban markets,” added Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL said.
The automaker in order to further enhance its after sales service and customer connect program has started a ‘Free Car Care Clinic' from October 31st to November 9th, 2014 across all the authorised Hyundai service outlets.
On global front, company’s executive sedan Elantra recently crossed the 10 million sales milestone. In United States, Hyundai Elantra won the prestigious North American Car of the Year award in 2012.
