Lamborghini, the super sports car manufacturer has officially announced the Veneno Roadster, which will be one of the world's most exclusive automobiles. Only nine units of the sports car will be manufactured during the course of 2014 and will be priced at 3.3 million Euros (around Rs. 27.7 crore).
The Veneno Roadster offers an intense driving experience, and will not have roof, just a strong rollover bar for optimum safety. The main design focus is to get optimum aerodynamics and stability through fast corners, with handling matches the racing prototype.
Under the hood, the super sports car gets a 6.5-litres, 12-cylinder engine that develops a massive 750bhp. The engine is mated to a semi-automatic gearbox with five shift modes. It will accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 355kmph. It comes with a permanent all-wheel drive and a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring/damper units.
The front end of the Veneno Roadster works as a large aerodynamic wing and the smooth underbody transitions into a substantial diffuser framing the four sizable exhaust pipes divided by a splitter. The design of the adjustable rear wing is the product of motorsport experience and extensive aerodynamic simulation to ensure optimum airflow in the interaction of the rear wing with the rear diffuser.
The alloy wheels are also designed for maximum aerodynamic functionality, which feature a carbon-fibre ring around the wheel rim. This ring works like a turbine to deliver additional cooling air to the carbon-ceramic brake discs. The “Rosso Veneno” paint color was developed exclusively for the Veneno Roadster, although each single customer will be able to individualize his own vehicle to suit his personal preferences.
The Veneno Roadster comes with a CFRP-based lightweight design, as all the exterior parts of the car are made from CFRP. The super sports car meets all safety and registration requirement worldwide, and is highly advanced in terms of safety. The interior of the Veneno Roadster also features the Carbon fiber monocoque, which is visible at the central tunnel and the sills. The woven carbon-fiber CarbonSkin is used to clad the entire cockpit, part of the seats and the headliner.
