Recently, Nissan unveiled the all-new X-Trail SUV at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and the same is also expected to make its way to the Indian car market as well. The new Nissan X-Trail will ride on the new CMF (Common Modular Family) architecture, and the same platform will also accommodate the upcoming Nissan-Renault products. Speculations are on rife that the new X-Trail will be introduced by the end of 2014 and by early 2015 in India.
The new Nissan X Trail has new looks, features, better stance and improved riding capabilities. The vehicle will be offered in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options, while the former will come as standard. The 2014 X-Trail comes equipped with a structured headlamps with LED daytime running lights and the characteristic D-pillar shape. The cabin of the SUV gets geometric metallic and piano black finishes with lots of chrome and complete leather upholstery with stitches in contrast.
Talking about the features, the new Nissan X-Trail sports the NissanConnect in-car navigation, information and entertainment system. The new NissanConnect features a range of applications covering music, social networking, entertainment and travel through a large 7-inch colour touchscreen and others.
The new Nissan X-Trail is likely to be offered with two turbo diesel engine options - a 1.6-litre and a 2.0-litre DCi. For the international markets, the vehicle is expected to get a petrol-hybrid version, however, India is not likely to get the same. It will also get the Nissan’s X-tronic CVT auto transmission. The new X-Trail will be manufactured at nine different Nissan facilities across the world, including India.
