We have been regularly informing you about Skoda's upcoming premium sedan new Octavia, which has now been confirmed to be unveiled in Mumbai on August 9. Few days back, the Czech automaker teased the sedan on its official Facebook page, saying "The Legend is Coming Back". The vehicle is expected to be launched in India by the festive season in September or October.
The company has used the Volkswagen's new MQB platform to develop the all-new Octavia, which is now big in dimensions than the Laura. Like we reported earlier, Skoda will launch new Octavia in October and will phase out its flagship sedan Laura. The premium sedan now has more upmarket upholstery and interiors, and with the increase in dimensions, it now offers more comfort to both front and rear passengers.
The new Skoda Octavia will also get a number of advanced features like nine airbags, automatic braking system, lane assistance and others. Few other advanced features such as Adaptive cruise control, intelligent light assistance, traffic sign recognition are also added in the vehicle, which makes it an excellent product for buyers.
For the new Octavia, we expect it to get the 1.8-litre petrol engine and the 2.0-litre diesel motor. The company might also launch the base model of the Octavia powered by a 1.4-litre petrol mill. The same powertrain also powers the Volkswagen's Jetta. We could get an option of both manual and automatic transmission in the new Octavia.
