Remember, the Figo concept that Ford India showcased at the Expo earlier this year. The concept has already taken the production clothes in Brazil and its on the way! The concept that the company showcased will be moulded into the next-gen Figo hatch as well as company's débutante compact sedan based on it; concept indeed was a concept sedan. Well we'll be getting the new hatch and the compact sedan early next year which will be the first product from the company's upcoming plant in Sanand, Gujarat. In brazil the upcoming Ford-Figo-duo are know as KA (hatch) and KA+(sedan).
Ford SYNC/ AppLink/ Emergency Assistance
Both the compact sedan and the hatch will come with the Ford's SYNC connectivity co-developed with Microsoft, the one that is on the Fiesta. The SYNC connects your smart-phone with the car's audio unit and with the Ford's smart-phone app – AppLink (available on IOS and Android) you can control several features of your phone by just your voice! The Emergency Assistance comes into play when the airbags are deployed, the system automatically calls emergency service – 108 and gives your exact location for instant help.
Ford My Connection with My Ford Dock
The compact sedan and the hatch comes standard with Ford My Connection – Bluetooth phones integration. The audio system also features USB and auxiliary connectivities. Speaking in this context, the higher variants of the next-gen Figo siblings will get SYNC as we mention with a built-in screen, while the lower variants will be getting a smart-phone dock - My Ford Dock. In this, you can also charge your smart-phone with the audio's system's auxiliary power while playing audio at the same time!
New petrol engine – 1.0 TiVCT
Both the hatch and the sedan are powered by a new 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine in Brazil; its highly expected that we could get similar engine in India. The engine features latest double variable command on intake and exhaust – TiVCT technology. The motor belts out maximum power of 85bhp and a peak torque of 105Nm. This will make it the most powerful 1.0L naturally aspirated engine in India. We can expect high efficiency figures from this small engine.
