Nissan, the Japanese automaker has announced its plans for the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, which includes the next generation X-Trail. The current generation X-Trail SUV has been around for quite sometime , and it now requires a facelift to attract the buyers and to counter the ongoing competition. And, no better occasion than the 65th renowned IAA Frankfurt Motor Show is to showcase the vehicle.

However, the company didn't mention about the next generation X-Trail SUV, media reports suggest that the vehicle teased is the new X-Trail. The vehicle will be manufactured at the Renault-Nissan's new Common Modular Family (CMF) platform. Currently, the X-Trail SUV is not selling in good numbers not just in India, but also in various other markets. So, it is essential that the vehicle needs a revival in terms of design to attract new buyers and improve the company's sales.

Nissan will also showcase the brand's cutting-edge design and technology innovation. Nissan is working aggressively to become the top Asian car brand across Europe by 2016. "Despite the down turn in the overall market, Nissan attained record market share last year and we are on target to match that achievement in 2013," said Guillaume Cartier, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, for Nissan in Europe.

The Japanese car manufacturer will present the Friend-Me Concept at the prestigious event, which offers striking design with an advanced premium interior, giving a view of how the car of the future may look. Designed using the same process that sparked Nissan's range of game-changing crossovers, Friend-Me showcases Nissan's next-generation design language and explores the possibilities of a fully-connected, fully-interactive cabin. Created around the needs and desires of permanently online passengers, Friend-Me integrates passengers into every journey, positioning itself as a hub for information and entertainment.
