Nifty May 2013 futures fall below 5900

Nifty May 2013 futures were at 5889, at a premium of 17.55 points over spot closing of 5871.45. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment declined to Rs 82110.36 crore from Rs 317082.42 crore on Thursday, 25 April 2013. The stock market was closed on Wednesday, 24 April 2013, on account of Mahavir Jayanti.

ICICI Bank May 2013 futures were at 1131.70, at a discount compared to spot closing of 1142.20.

Maruti Suzuki India May 2013 futures were at 1685.45, at a premium over spot closing of 1674.

State Bank of India (SBI) May 2013 futures were at 2262, at a discount compared to spot closing of 2286.

In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty shed 44.85 points or 0.76% to settle at 5,871.45, its lowest closing level since 23 April 2013.

The May 2013 derivatives contracts expire on 30 May 2013.
