Nifty November 2016 futures trade at discount

Turnover rises

The Nifty December 2016 futures traded at 8,056, a premium of 22.70 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,033.30 in the cash market. The November 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,014.95, a discount of 18.35 points compared with the Nifty's closing in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 5.36 lakh crore from Rs 4.96 lakh crore yesterday, 22 November 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 31 points or 0.39% to settle at 8,033.30, its highest closing level since 18 November 2016.

Vedanta, State Bank of India (SBI), Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Axis Bank and Hindalco Industries were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Vedanta November 2016 futures traded at 216.15, at a discount from spot closing of 217. SBI November 2016 futures traded at 258.20, near spot closing of 258.05. L&T November 2016 futures traded at 1352, at a discount from spot closing of 1353.90.

Axis Bank November 2016 futures traded at 477.80, at a discount from spot closing of 479. Hindalco Industries November 2016 futures traded at 173, at a discount from spot closing of 173.10.

The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire tomorrow, 24 November 2016. The December 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 December 2016.
