Telecom stocks in demand

Shares of five telecom companies rose by 0.8% to 3.58% at 11:45 IST on BSE on renewed buying.

Idea Cellular (up 3.58% to Rs 173.40), MTNL (up 2.72% to Rs 30.25), Reliance Communications (up 2.25% to Rs 120.65) and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (up 0.8% to Rs 11.35) edged higher.

Bharti Airtel gained 3.11% to Rs 387.65 after hitting a 52-week high of Rs 391.40 in intraday trade today, 2 September 2014.

The S&P BSE Sensex was up 84.63 points, or 0.31% at 26,952.18
