Bajaj Auto rose 1.03% to Rs 2,296.15 at 11:08 IST on BSE after the company reported good sales in August.
The sales numbers were announced during market hours today, 2 September 2014.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 105.57 points or 0.41% at 26,978.66.
The stock hit a high of Rs 2,305.20 and a low of Rs 2,255 so far during the day.
The company said its total sales rose 8% to 3.36 lakh units in August 2014 over August 2013. The company said sales in September is estimated to be 4 lakh units. Exports rose 21% to 1.75 lakh units in August 2014 over August 2013. The exports was highest ever for any month. Motorcycles sales rose 2% to 2.84 lakh units in August 2014 over August 2013. Sales of discovery model in motorcycles rose 16% to 93,000 units in August 2014 over August 2013. Commercial vehicle sales jumped 56% to 52,538 units in August 2014 over August 2013. The commercial vehicle sales was highest ever for any month so far.
