Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops
The April 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9,217, at a small premium of 18.17 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 9,198.30 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment fell to Rs 3.03 lakh crore from Rs 6.4 lakh crore registered during previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index shed 63.65 points or 0.69% to settle at 9,198.30, its lowest closing level since 31 March 2017.
Reliance Industries (RIL), Tata Steel, L&T, State Bank of India (SBI), and HPCL were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.
RIL April 2017 futures traded at 1,411, at a premium over spot closing of 1,405.25. Tata Steel April 2017 futures traded at 491, at a discount over spot closing of 492.15. L&T April 2017 futures traded at 1,689.50, at a premium over closing of 1,682.80.
SBI April 2017 futures traded at 289.45, at a premium compared with spot closing of 288.30. HPCL April 2017 futures traded at 537.80, at a premium over spot closing of 536.60.
The April 2017 F&O contracts will expire on 27 April 2017.
