Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises

The Nifty April 2017 futures trade at premium

The April 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9,274, at a premium of 36.15 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 9,237.85 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 2.55 lakh crore from Rs 2.04 lakh crore registered during previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 64.10 points or 0.7% to settle at 9,237.85, a record closing high.

Reliance Industries (RIL), L&T, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), and Tata Steel were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

RIL April 2017 futures traded at 1,375.50, at a premium over spot closing of 1,373.25. L&T April 2017 futures traded at 1,668, at a premium over spot closing of 1,663.50. ICICI Bank April 2017 futures traded at 286.75, at a premium over closing of 286.65.

SBI April 2017 futures traded at 294.90, at a premium compared with spot closing of 293.40. Tata Steel April 2017 futures traded at 488.20, at a premium over spot closing of 486.

The April 2017 F&O contracts will expire on 27 April 2017.
