Nifty April 2017 futures trade at premium to spot closing

The April 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9145.05, at a premium of 41.55 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 9103.50 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment declined to Rs 5.20 lakh crore from Rs 6.30 lakh crore registered during previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index lost 1.65 points or 0.02% to settle at 9,103.50, its lowest closing level since 28 March 2017.

Sun TV Network, Tata Steel, TCS, State Bank of India and Yes Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Sun TV Network April 2017 futures traded at 845.50, at a premium over spot closing of 844.95. Tata Steel April 2017 futures traded at 454.75, at a premium over spot closing of 452.50. TCS April 2017 futures traded at 2304.70, at a premium over spot closing of 2302.

State Bank of India April 2017 futures traded at 286.25, at a premium over spot closing of 284.90. Yes Bank April 2017 futures traded at 1616.80, at a premium over spot closing of 1609.

The April 2017 F&O contracts will expire on 27 April 2017.
