Nifty April 2017 futures trade at premium to spot closing

The April 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9116.20, at a premium of 11.05 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 9105.15 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment increased to Rs 6.30 lakh crore from Rs 2.92 lakh crore registered during previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index lost 34.15 points or 0.37% to settle at 9,105.15, its lowest closing level since 28 March 2017.

Adani Enterprises, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Reliance Infrastructure and State Bank of India were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Adani Enterprises April 2017 futures traded at 144.65, at a premium over spot closing of 144.15. ICICI Bank April 2017 futures traded at 283.40, at a premium over spot closing of 283.15. Tata Steel April 2017 futures traded at 449.50, at a premium over spot closing of 448.50.

Reliance Infrastructure April 2017 futures traded at 559.10, at a premium over spot closing of 556.70. State Bank of India April 2017 futures traded at 291.95, at a premium over spot closing of 291.55.

The April 2017 F&O contracts will expire on 27 April 2017.
