Volumes jump at Somany Ceramics counter

Mahindra & Mahindra, Asahi India Glass, Aegis Logistics and Ramco Cements are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 28 August 2017.

Somany Ceramics clocked volume of 71,000 shares by 14:13 IST on BSE, a 14.35-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 5,000 shares. The stock rose 1.23% at Rs 807.90.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) notched up volume of 3.50 lakh shares, a 11.79-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 30,000 shares. The stock fell 0.2% at Rs 1,373.05. The company announced a new strategic direction for its subsidiary, Mahindra Gujarat Tractors (MGTL), now renamed as Gromax Agri Equipment.

Gromax will provide distinctive and affordable mechanisation solutions to the farming community. Gromax has also announced the launch of its all new tractor brand, Trakstar. The Trakstar range will be present across five HP points in the 30-50 HP category. The announcement was made during market hours today, 28 August 2017.

Asahi India Glass saw volume of 2.06 lakh shares, a 9.54-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 22,000 shares. The stock surged 15.24% at Rs 384.85.

Aegis Logistics clocked volume of 4.89 lakh shares, a 4.89-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 58,000 shares. The stock lost 0.72% at Rs 185.

Ramco Cements saw volume of 95,000 shares, a 7.03-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 13,000 shares. The stock advanced 1.61% at Rs 675.
