In a freak incident, at least 10 persons were injured, two of them seriously, when a drunk driver rammed his car into a bank ATM queue here on Friday, police said.
According to police officer N.G. Ankushkar, the incident occurred around 10.00 a.m. when there was a long queue of people waiting to withdraw cash outside a Bank Of Maharashtra ATM in Ataar area.
Suddenly, a speeding car crashed into the queue of people. At least 10 customers were hurt, two of them seriously.
Furious, others in the queue dragged the inebriated driver out of the car and thrashed him before handing him over to the police.
Identified as Santosh S. Malage, 34, he is reportedly the private driver of a local politician, Subhash Chavan.
