At least 12 people have died in two districts of Bangladesh in a storm that swept across the region.
A "Kalbaishakhi" or nor'wester hit Netrokona and Sunamganj districts around 11 p.m. Sunday, Abdur Rahman, a duty officer at the meteorology office, told bdnews24.com.
The storm lasted for an hour, Netrokona Superintendant of Police (SP) Zakir Hossain said.
Five people died in Bishampur of Kalmakanda upazila - four of them from the same family.
They were crushed to death under the roof of their hut which collapsed during the storm, Hossain said.
One death each was also reported from Mohanganj, Barhatta and Sadar Ali of Netrokona Sadar, all buried under debris of huts that collapsed.
