Baku 2015 European Games announced the venue for the triathlon event to be held next summer.
The event will be held at the Bilgah beach (some 35 km north of Baku) and see 130 of Europe's finest athletes, reports Xinhua.
The race which will consist of a 1,500-metre swim, 40 kilometre cycle ride and a 10 kilometre run is anticipated to be one of the most popular events of the first European Games.
"We are very happy that Baku 2015 European Games has now secured this venue for the event," said Marisol Casado, president of the International Triathlon Union at the ceremony.
"It has a capacity to host high-quality sport as well as the large crowds that are expected to attend," she said.
The two-day competition will take place on the opening weekend of action next year Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14.
