22nd African Union summit concludes

The 22nd African Union (AU) Summit concluded Friday in the Ethiopian capital city here.

The summit was held to focus on the theme of agriculture and food security on the African continent, Xinhua reported.

Various parallel sessions and sidelines meetings were convened on the framework of the summit held at a time Africa facing peace and security challenges, especially in Central African Republic and South Sudan.

The summit elected Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz to serve the rotating chairmanship of the Union.
