At least 145 militants have been killed in military operations within past 24 hours, the ministry of defence said on Wednesday.
The military operations were carried out in Kabul, Paktia, Kandahar, Urozgan, Farah, Badghis and Herat provinces in the past 24 hours, Khaama press quoted the statement released by the defence ministry as saying.
According to the statement, 70 militants were killed, 75 others injured and two others were detained during the operations.
Six soldiers of the security forces were also killed during the operations, the statement said.
Security forces have been carrying several military operations against Taliban and other militant groups in parts of the country.
During these operations, security forces have re-taken areas that were under Taliban control for many years.
