The Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education announced the results of this year's Class 12 examination Wednesday, with a pass percentage of 92.68, up 3.28 percent from last year.
Some 26 lakh students who wrote the exam.
Girls again outshone boys and held majority positions in the merit list and overall ranks. A board official said that among the total students appearing, 96.32 percent girls and 89.79 percent boys passed the board exam.
The first position in the merit list was jointly shared by three students - Harjita Verma of Ram Sevak Yadav Inter College Barabanki, Harshit Srivastava of SKD Inter College, Lucknow, and Manu Singh of Triveni Bansi Inter College, Unnao. The trio scored 96.8 percent marks each.
