Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has condoled the death of former India international Amar Bahadur Gurung, who passed away on Wednesday.
In a letter to All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Praful Patel, Shaikh Salman conveyed his "deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Amar Bahadur will be remembered for his services and contributions for Indian football."
Amar Bahadur was part of the Indian national squad which won the bronze medal in the 1970 Asian Games when they beat Japan 1-0.
