Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said on Wednesday that his government will not allow proxy war on its soil.
"We will not allow any country to conduct its proxy war in Afghanistan," Xinhua news agency quoted President Ghani as saying in his speech at the graduation ceremony of more than 500 officers at a military academy here.
The Afghan government was committed to the ongoing peace process and would spare no efforts to achieve lasting peace in the country through political means, the president said.
Ghani, since assuming office last September, has been striving hard to bring the Taliban outfit to the negotiation table and find a political solution to the country's lingering crisis.
However, the Taliban are yet to announce their readiness for face-to-face talks with the Afghan administration.
Expressing confidence about the ability and professionalism of the Afghan national security forces, Ghani said that the country's security forces were capable enough to defend Afghanistan's freedom and its security independently.
A total of 549 officers on Wednesday graduated from Marshal Fahim Military Academy, a prestigious military training centre in Afghanistan built with US and British support in 2005.
