Ajax recovered well from a humiliating 0-3 home defeat against Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League by beating AZ Alkmaar 4-0 in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Captain Siem de Jong opened the scoring for the home team in the fourth minute, but Ajax missed chances to decide the match in the first half Sunday, reports Xinhua.
In the second half, Lerin Duarte scored twice and 19-year-old Ricardo Kishna scored on his league debut with a powerful strike.
With Ajax winning in domestic league, both rivals FC Twente and Feyenoord shared point in their encounters Sunday in Enschede.
Also Sunday, Vitesse defeated RKC Waalwijk 3-1, while PSV Eindhoven booked their fourth successive victory against NEC in Nijmegen for 2-0.
Ajax now lead the standings, six points ahead of Twente, eight ahead of Vitesse, nine ahead of Feyenoord and 13 ahead of fifth ranked PSV.
