BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and the Indian Army after the troops carried out surgical strikes across the LoC.
"I congratulate Modi, Parrikar and Indian Army for surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir," Shah said in a statement.
"The army has shown exemplary valour and courage by carrying out surgical strikes on the launching pads and trainning camps of terrorists in PoK," the Bharatiya Janata Party leader added.
Shah said it was for the first time that the army had inflicted heavy damage on terrorists without any loss to the Indian side.
"After a long battle against terrorism, for the first time, damage was inflicted on the breeding centres of terrorism and a befitting reply given to terrorists. Today, all countrymen feels proud of the army," Shah said.
Earlier, in a series of tweets Shah hailed the army and said the action "reaffirms the army's valour and commitment to the nation's security".
