Indian men's basketball team registered a facile 89-49 win over Palestine in their opening Group B match of the 17th Asian Games at the Hwaseong Sports Complex Gymnasium here Saturday.
In a dominating display, the Indians outscored their opponents in all four quarters to romp home by a huge margin.
Amjyot Singh was the star of the show for India winning two rebounds and scoring a match-high 25 points.
India led 20-6 in the first quarter and by the end of the second led 40-23.
Palestine performed much better in the third quarter restricting the scoreline to 41-68.
In the final quarter, though, they received a hiding from the Indians, who scored 21 points to Palestine's eight.
