English football club Aston Villa on Friday suspended its striker Gabriel Agbonlahor indefinitely after he was photographed smoking a shisha pipe in Dubai.
The 29-year-old, who is on holiday in Dubai during the international break, was seen last Saturday smoking a shisha pipe accompanied by several friends, reports Efe.
The images, published on Friday by the U.K. media, have forced Aston Villa to suspend the former England international pending an internal investigation.
The Birmingham club said on its Twitter account: "Gabby Agbonlahor will not be involved in Saturday's early afternoon clash with @ChelseaFC. #AVFC
"An internal investigation is currently underway. While this is being conducted, Gabby Agbonlahor will not feature. #AVFC"
Interim coach Eric Black made the decision because he does not want anything to "distract the players".
